Breath of Fire 2, composed by Yuko Takehara (of very little fame), has a damn good soundtrack. The music pieces are very standalone, but together with the game, they enhance the story immensely. In particular, the White Wings and Cross Counter Piece as well as Memories and, well, you get the point.
