Quote 3

The spear in the daylight is easily avoided. The arrow in the night is difficult to defend against.

-The Ravages of Time

The meaning here is clear: Underhanded methods are the most difficult things to be aware of. While threats can be easily seen if they are huge, the most dangerous ones are the ones that remain hidden. Those that bide their time, those that hide their malice and hate; those are the ones to fear, while those who openly express their views can be easily taken care of.

Song of the Day: 2NE1- I Don't Care

A big hit from 2NE1. One of my favorite songs that came from that group. This song is dedicated to FlutteringChicken...

Quote 2

Song of the Day? Don't make me laugh! If that's your idea of revival then that's nothing.

Ahem

"When one can't figure out how to make a proper start, one can't make a single move. But that's a mistake! It's different in this world of ours. Even if it's not perfect, starting to move opens up a path."

Song of the Day: SNSD- Diamond (SMTown Winter Album)

Girl's Generation new Christmas song was out of my radar. I was surprised when I found out that they had released this song last week. I was even more surprised when I heard the group sing it in English, from start to finish. SNSD's Diamond and After School's Love Letter, according to iTunes, have been played over and over around... 200 times.

Song of the Day: After School- Love Letter

I've been anticipating After School's Christmas song a while back. On the day it was released, I just had to  watch the music video over and over. Heart warming song for the up coming cold Christmas days.

So happy that Nana had more vocal and face time in this song!

Song of the Day: SNSD- The Boys (AREIA REMIX)

Maybe my most favorite remix of this song. I love the video editing of how the roses are falling in slow motion, and then rising back up. Lot's of work went into this remix, and I wish it would have won the "Remix Contest". But too bad it didn't...

Anime and Video Game Characters: Yagami Light

There is no doubt about it. His sense of justice is different from the one held by society as a whole. Though, the question is: is society's justice the right kind?

On the battlefield, all lives become meaningless.
If you don't die, it will be my death.
I do not care if you are the eldest son, father of a child, parents' precious.

Quotations

Artist: Resona-Raille
For some reason....it's getting harder and harder to post. It's like....stagnation. Hopefully we'll be busy again, but until then I decided to make a new category that might inspire us to post more. I don't know how this quotation thing is gonna work or how it's gonna turn out, but it's better than nothing.

Status Update 9/1

Artist: saint-kageyama

Whoa, we made it to September. Nothing much has been happening, but last month we (more like I) managed to overcome the declining post trend. And I am never going to attempt something like that again. The quality of the posts were crap, and motivation was basically just me trying to get to 23. It didn't matter what posts I put up as long as it reached 23, and it did. So, expect declining posts this month. Especially since school has begun again.

Overcoming the Struggle

Artist: Shinzo-X

We've done it (more like I did most of the work, but still, they helped)! We've managed to finally stop the decline of posts. It took a lot of work, but now the downhill progress is over. Since this is the 23rd post of the month, we've beaten last month's count of 22. Though, it's way smaller than what we had when we started out (what were we thinking getting up over a hundred posts).

Heroes (Possibly Influenced by The Ravages of Time)

Song of the Day: Jasmine

From Tsubasa Chronicles is the song Jasmine, and it's sung by....Yui Makino. Yeah, I did my research this time. It's a catchy song, and, as usual, there's not much to say about it.

Anime and Video Game Characters: Jaccuzi Splott

Song of the Day: Utsukushi Kereba Sore de Ii

I haven't done this for a while. So here is the song of the day. It's sung by....that person who did the Gundam Seed Ending with....that equally complex name. Yeah, I am way too tired to do the research. So here's the song.

Ma Teng

If there's anything I can say about Ma Teng, it's that he sure likes to eat noodles. no matter where he is seen, he has a bowl of noodles. Even when invading the four generals in Chang'an Ma Teng sat on the battlefield eating noodles. When he speaks, he uses noodle terms. "I want 2 catties of beef" and that means killing this one guy. Heck, other than that, I don't know what else to say. Thanks to Jia Xu, Ma Teng is able to return back to his base before Lu Bu takes it over. In Chang'an after Cao Cao takes it, Ma Teng becomes one of the inside rebels. Ma Teng has a sizeable force that threatens Cao Cao during the Battle of Guandu. But....of course he gets taken care of. At this point Ma Teng still has time to get more development. But right now, he hasn't been seen very much.

Cao Xing

This guy is a master archer. He taught Xiao Meng everything about archery (both of them are experts). He first appeared in the Xuzhou incident where Zhang Fei competed against Lu Bu, and he nearly got Liaoyuan Huo. Later he decimated Xiahou Dun's army with just archers. It's too bad that he got a bit cocky and met the spear of the one-eyed monster. But still, there probably won't be any others as strong as him in....shoot. There's old man Huang Zhong who's pretty good with it. And...aw man. There's probably others as well, but he's a master.

Ravages of Time Insert

Just to clarify things, my character analysis of The Ravages of Time isn't the best. Your interpretations may be different from mine (they probably are; the manhua is hard enough to understand as it is) and that's fine. My posts are just guides to the characters so that you know who is who (because there are many many characters....even more than Baccano). And the person responsible for making all of this work (by this I mean making it so that I can read it) is merc from here so visit the site and you'll receive even more resources on this awesome manhua.

(yeah I know this is pretty much filler)

Yuan Tan

And here continues my look at the characters who have little significance in the big picture. Yuan Tan (someone unimportant) is the eldest son of Yuan Shao (someone important). He competes with his other two brothers to be the heir of the Yuan Clan after Yuan Shao dies. However Yuan Fang is the illegitimate son of Yuan Shao, so in this case he is competing against three brothers. Except...the first time he tries to show his might he fails miserably. Yeah, I gotta stop doing characters that are in the story only to fail.

Gongsun Zan

From the beginning it's obvious that this guy wouldn't last long. The Three Kingdoms story is mostly about the struggle between Cao Cao's force, Liu Bei's force, and Sun Ce/Quan's force. Rulers like Gongsun Zan have little chance to compete. Nevertheless, he lasts about the same time as Lu Bu in The Ravages of Time (which is pretty damn long).

Mid Month Update

Serious? Even though we were moving along so well....we're gonna fail? Man....that's depressing. All we needed to do was beat 22 posts, and we couldn't even do that! Well, I....haven't given up yet! There's still time. There's still enough time to get up ten more posts! And this one is one of them! And I'll just picture spam to have some relevance in this status update.

Anime and Video Game Characters: Nanashi Part 2

So I am damn unsatisfied with my earlier Nanashi post, so this time I hope to do a better job. And to do this I asked myself a very crucial question.

Baccano! Review

What a rush! It's an endless party of the most bizarre characters and the most out of control plot presented in an outrageous style. Baccano! has many many characters (an uncountable number), yet they all become unique enough to know their names! And the plot, damn! so convoluted in the manner it is presented, yet it all makes perfect sense! And-

Kar: Island of FluffyBunnyPwn

In his tiny vessel Kar examined what seemed like the empty air. He was miles away from the closest island, and the water in front was surging wildly. Kar let his craft move forward....and felt the ship move sharply to the left a long distance before return back to the path. Using his command of the wind, Kar turned his ship back again. As the ship approached the area again, Kar spoke the word commonly used to ward off curses.

Best of Anime Soundtracks: Sword of the Stranger

Really? I didn't do this one yet? Okay, here is the great Sword of the Stranger movie and its amazing soundtrack composed by Naoki Saito. A lot of it is the same tune but...different. Yeah, that's it.

Manga Review: Suzuka

"Why did you have to say that...?"- Suzuka

Song of the Day: Fruit Basket Intro (Full Version)

I don't know why, but I like Shojo-type(manga that are targeted towards girls) mangas. Maybe, it's because I'm tired of the generic Shonen-type(manga that are targeted towards boys) manga. Either way, Fruit Basket's opening is very relaxing. Reminds me of the old days when this anime was popular.

Song of the Day: Ten wo Tsuke(Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann OST)

"I was sitting on the toilet wondering if I will ever be able to poop, I wondered to myself whether if I should just give up. People seem to poop so easily but me I feel I can't ever be like everyone else. But I listened to this song and it showed me to never give up, so pooped as much as I can, and the biggest poop I ever saw came out. Thank you Gurren Laggan, I owe you my life and more."- A man that was changed by Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.

August 1, 2011 Status

How unfortunate. I was hoping that we would be able to fight off the declining number of posts each month, but it appears that our efforts have not done so well in that category. Nevertheless, where would the fun be if there was no challenge? If our goal is to defeat the preceding month's number of posts, then our job has gotten a lot easier, for making 22 posts is a lot easier than making 33, and making 33 is a lot easier than making 71, and so on. This will, of course, be post number one of the month, making the goal one post closer.

FluffyBunnyPwn's Song of the Day: Banmal Song

This song has so much meaning to it. These people are actually two famous Korean singers who got on a reality TV show called "We Got Married" where they simulate a married life. Throughout the show, the girl has a really hard time speaking informally to the guy because he's two years older than her. This song is about how they hope that one day they'll be able to break the "banmal (informal way of talking) wall" and talk comfortably with each other.

Best of Movie Soundtracks: The Classic

Sorry about my long hiatus. Now that I'm back, I hope to step things up a little bit by adding a Best of Movies Soundtrack category. Of course, video games and anime have spectacular soundtracks and it would be such a shame to skip out on memorable movie soundtracks as well. This is The Classic, one of the saddest Korean movies I've ever watched partially because of its soundtrack.

Firefly - While listening to this song, the movie automatically plays in my head. It's that good.

New Head

Well, I guess it's time for me to say that I am now head of this blog. A long time ago, it used to be a competition between FluffyBunnyPwn, domodragon53, and me for supremacy. But now, those two are gone, and our new recruits are nowhere to be seen. The island of FluffyBunnyPwn officially belongs to me. Although, I would like them to have some posts again because it is a damn hard job. Notice how the number of posts have declined by half every month. And this month is no different. It's the 10th of July and we only have 4 posts (including this one). So I'll jsut leave off with some pictures of emperors/lord looking people to show by how much I won. Yes, it makes me feel like the Conqueror of West Chu (Xiang Yu).

The Last Heroes

My name is Argonaut. I am leader of the 150 heroes. We took a quest to slay the Big Bad Evil Emperor. We went and killed goblins first. They were weak. We leveled up a lot. Then we helped villages. Then for some reason cavalry people came and I died. We won. I don't know why I died.

Chapter 285

Yuan Shu delivers his last words here, words that are straightforward and truthful. Is it not true that the warlords are only trying to make themselves look good by using highfalutin words? Is it not true that the people are being led like mindless sheep? This is the reason for Yuan Shu's desire to be Emperor Zhongjia. He truly wants to help the people. He realizes that Imperial Han is an empty name, and that it's time for a new dynasty to appear. Because he is so honest and idealistic, he is given a bad name. What a hypocrisy. The one who is honest is seen as corrupt. The ones who live in lies are seen as righteous. Where is the justice in this?

Sima Yi

This guy is a genius. Although he is not one of the Eight Geniuses, he is on par with them. Sima Yi is known for serving Cao Cao and competing against Zhuge Liang in Romance of the Three Kingdoms, but in The Ravages of Time, he is the head of the Sima clan, a wealthy merchant family. He appears before he is suppose to in the novel, and he has at his disposal the Handicapped Warriors, the assassin group that includes Xiao Meng and Liaoyuan Huo (Zhao Yun). And using them as tools, Sima Yi plays a hand in killing Dong Zhuo's head advisor Lu Xun, killing Dong Zhuo, and preventing Cao Cao from taking Xuzhou.

After Cao Cao tears apart the Sima clan, Sima Yi joins Cao Cao. However, it may or may not be from loyalty because Sima Yi accepts the Dark Arts of War. In this case, Sima Yi probably wants to wait for the right moment before killing Cao Cao....much like in real life where he takes over after Wei is established. At this point, instead of competing against Zhuge Liang, Sima Yi cooperates with him to defeat Guo Jia at Xuzhou. In addition to that, Sima Yi causes trouble to the Yuan forces at Guandu by getting Xu You to help Cao Cao. And I haven't even gone into details about how he outsmarts Lu Bu. This guy is a genius.

Big Bad Evil Emperor

He was the Big Bad Evil Emperor. He had his own castle and a dungeon filled with many monsters. Yes, there were some 150 heroes coming to kill him. No, he didn't have any damsel in distress. The last time he tried to abduct one, his whole army got annihilated. No, he had never harmed a single village at all. No he had no wealth to give. No, no one would get any fame for killing him, arguably the weakest Evil Emperor  in history. So why would 150 heroes randomly decide to kill him? Because heroes are stuck-up, insensitive individuals who care nothing for the different lifestyles and cultures of the many unique creatures on the diverse land presented to and equally obtainable by any number of racially different beings. The point is that heroes don't care much about anyone except themselves, as you will see.

New Change

As of right now, there is now a count of how many posts each of us writers have done. It's on the right side where the tags are. Fluffybunnypwn's count will be listed as Z: Fluffybunnypwn (insert current number) and if you click, you will see all the posts Fluffybunnypwn has done. The same goes for domodragon53. Z:domodragon53 (insert current number). And same goes for me Z: Soaringhawk (insert the highest number). Bakaneko and MonkeyKidd will have to get at least 15 posts each before I add their names to the new category.

I Like You

I wanna try this method out someday, hahahahahaha.

Zhang Fei

My favorite of the Peach Brothers, Zhang Fei knows what needs to be done to make Liu Bei a successful sovereign. While Liu Bei would be content to live as a sandal maker, Zhang Fei uses tricks and cunning ideas to elevate Liu Bei's status. So not only his he one of the strongest warriors, he is also meticulous and thinks far ahead (not like Dynasty Warriors where he is portrayed as a brute). Zhang Fei fights Lu Bu equally in many encounters (not really, he gets whooped once and has Guan Yu to help in another).

In addition to this, Zhang Fei is a great artist (apparently this is a skill that not many know), and he happens to be able to copy handwriting. So all he has to do is copy the lord of Xuzhou's handwriting (he does) and he writes a will making Liu Bei the governor of the place. Afterward Zhang Fei loses the place on purpose to Lu Bu to get Liu Bei to realize that being blindly loyal will harm the people. As Zhang Fei says: There is a method to my madness.

Point Blank Long Distance

Liu Bei

This is the man of benevolence, the man who's reputation is greater than any other. This is Liu Bei, the man who always gets his ass kicked and always rises back up to power. He is one third of the Peach Brothers, the most loyal of loyal individuals. And.....he is an excellent judge of character. No seriously, that doesn't sound like such a good ability, but it's damn useful. If a lord has a lot of people on his side, it's damn useful to know who is a traitor and who is not. Or else the lord will end up like Niu Fu (of course, Niu Fu willingly sacrificed himself to destroy Lu Bu).

But anyways, Liu Bei's most trustworthy officers are Guan Yu and Zhang Fei, and they have to work hard to make sure that Liu Bei isn't cheated of anything. Liu Bei is sort of has a mood swing whenever he has an epiphany, and then he becomes a scary individual. As a character, I like him way better than Guan Yu but less than Zhang Fei. Heck, I think the only reason I don't like the Peach Brothers is because of Guan Yu. Liu Bei will end up with Shu at the end, but as of right now, he is in hiding with Yuan Shao.
