Advance Wars: Dual Strike
Advance Wars: Dual Strike is a turn-based strategy game that is based off of the earlier Advance Wars from the Game Boy Advance and the Famicom War.
Story-8/10
The story is similar to the Game Boy Advance versions. Omega Land is in danger and a bunch of evil-doers at fault. Lots of characters from the previous versions are back, with new ones. Same old, same old.
Gameplay-10/10
This is where the game really shines. Instead of having one CO, commanding officer, on the field, the game allows 2 COs on the field at the same time on the same team. With this, players are allowed to activate the CO's special powers at the same time allowing the player to move twice. There are two minigames: Combat and Survival. In Combat mode, the player plays in real time as the unit that must destroy all the opposing force or capture the enemy's HQ. In Survival mode, the player is given a limited amount of units and must survive through the enemy's bombardment.
Presentation-8/10
The game looks very similar to the previous versions. It's cartoonish and colorful for a war game. Every unit has their own sprite, and the CO looks amazing.
The Good:
-Being able to use two COs at once that allows more strategy and gameplay
The Bad:
-The story was predictable and similar to the previous versions
Total Score:8/10
