Advance Wars: Days of Ruin
Advance Wars: Days of Ruin is the next addition to the DS. This game, unlike the others, feels more mature and darker than the previous games.
Story-9/10
The world has been bombarded by meteors. 90% of the population have died. Set in a post-apocalyptic world, you play as Will, who joins the Brenner's Wolves to help the survivors of the meteor shower. However, the enemy of Will's nation, Lazuria, is still at war with Rubinelle and the Brenner's Wolves must convince that fighting is never the option. Because Advance Wars: Days of Ruin had a more mature story, I liked it more than the previous games.
Gameplay-10/10
Advance Wars: Days of Ruin introduces new game play to the series. The leveling system for the units is innovative. It allows units of the same type to get stronger as they fight in battles. New units and abilities are improved. Such as the new Anti-Tank can deal great damage to tanks with indirect fire, and can counter-attack from a direct attack. Or the Battleship that can move and attack in the same turn, indirect attack of course. This game introduces new COs with similar abilities to the previous versions.
Presentation-8/10
Hmm... many people were turned down my the look of the units and the terrain. The units do not face horizontally and vertically, but now they face diagonally. The terrain looks plain and messy, unlike the previous versions that were colorful. As many gamers say, its not how the game looks, but how it plays.
The Good:
-New units and new upgrades
-New COs
-A more mature storyline
The Bad:
-The looks of the units and terrain may turn you down
Final Score:9/10
